SplitGate beta is so popular that you have to expect long waiting times

With this huge success, the creators of Splitgate probably did not expect. The rush on the servers was temporarily so great that the developer team of 1047 games decided to move the release and briefly interrupt the betaphase. Meanwhile, the open beta servers are back at the start. But those who are currently interested in a match must bring a long patient thread.

Server are overloaded

To play a round in Splitgate, you have to plan up 90 minutes waiting time . The developers were known in the social media. The team is aware that this is an inappropriate wait, but currently they are bound their hands:

What is the problem? A developer explains in the video why the server capacity can not adapt so quickly to the growing player's tower. The time that the team for the growth of server capacity has to invest is too long. The developers are no longer behind at the high number of players:

"The growth rate of our player base is faster than the speed we can increase the server capacity. We work on a long-term solution to increase the server capacity on well over 100k simultaneously playing, but that takes time."

And now? The developer team works on a solution to increase the server capacity quickly in the long run. However, the team did not assume how long it will take until the final solution finally grabs. Thus, interested people have to continue with the high waiting time.

It's about it in Splitgate

SplitGate is a Free2Play shooter for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / s. The gameplay of the Arena Shooter is very fast and reminiscent with its multiplayer battles on titles like Halo or Quake. However, there is a small twist here, because playing can come through portals to land at another location of the arena. It can even be shot through portals to meet opponents on the other side of the portal.

The whole thing looks like in the following video:

The gameplay runs relatively classically apart from the portal twist. That is, there is no killstreaks or loadouts. Instead, you will find better weapons on the maps that you need to collect.

Unfortunately, the developers do not know when the final release of SPLITGATE will be. So there is nothing else left than to wait when the financial syringe of 10 million US dollars is noticeable to the developer studio and we can benefit from a higher server capacity.

Are you willing to wait 90 minutes for a round? How do you bridge the waiting time?
