Forza Horizon 5 is basically a videogame of Fast & Furious

For years, Forza has been a joke for players. Return to any presentation of Microsoft E3 and you will find the players putting their eyes on the inevitable forza segment. Racing games have long been a niche in video games and have struggled to win at the base of fanatics called unconditional.

Forza Horizon 5 It seems that he will finally break the cynicism barrier. The next game of Microsoft is not your traditional racing game driven by the type of car jargon that only a fan would love it. Like his predecessors, it is more a game of open world adventures that carries the genre off the road. It provides a set of ideas and more creative goals for those who simply do not find exciting driving in a circle.

I was able to take a new look at the game before the livestom opening night broadcast of the Gamescom on Tuesday and I found myself completely convinced of what forza Horizon 5 had to offer. At first, I was not sure why I was so excited. Then I realized: it is essentially a Fast and Furious video game.

F means forza ... and family

The brief clip I saw showed four different cars by exploring the Mexican landscapes of Forza Horizon 5. The video does not start on a race track or on a secondary road. Instead, we are on a plane on top of heaven. The back door opens and a Ford Bronco comes rolling with care, falling into chopped by the air. A parachute opens, lands on a dirt road and then take off. A second car crosses rapidly on his way, starting a kind of unofficial street race.

The bronch continues running forward until it reaches a metal handrail. It goes through, it is thrown through the air and lands perfectly in the middle of a race that is already underway. It is the type of action film sequence that you will not see in something like the F1 series.

My brain immediately ran the Fast and Furious Film Franchise, which has taken many forms during its 20 years. While the series began as a medium budget drama on street careers, the bet has risen with each film since then. Fast Five is a complete robbery film in which cars steal a vault and drag it through the streets of the city fleeing the police. The Fast 9 of this year presents some acrobatics outside this world, literally, that destroy their own rules.

That is the same vibes that I have when I see the forza cars fall into chopping the aircraft or give jumps of 20 feet and leave ilasos. At the end of the clip, I had seen a Stingray Corvette shoot through a huge storm of dust and a Porsche Desert Flyer cross the jungle. The latter is literally the piece that opens Fast 9, since Dominic Toretto and the family of drivers of it evaded the cars while they are opened through the trees.

Diesel energy

Forza Horizon 5 is not as deranged as the FAST saga, at least not yet. It is still mainly based on reality, and has more similarities with the first three films of the Fast and Furious series than with the last six. The focus is firmly focused on highlighting great cars (such as Mercedes AMG One), scenic locations and several races. However, the Forza Horizon series has shown that it is willing to become a little silly. Forza Horizon 4 presented a complete expansion of Lego who added cars in blocks to the game. I would not be surprised if we see a Halo Warthog join the race within a year.

Seeing the new images, I'm already thinking about three Forza Games Horizon ahead. I can see a world in which Microsoft tries to climb the bet with the series, providing more show with each game and differentiating it from the strictest Forza Motorsport series. When I see that a car is thrown into parachute from an airplane, I imagine one giving an impossible jump between skyscrapers as in Furious 7.

In my opinion, this will be like Microsoft will finally exceed a decade of disinterest by the cynics. Forza Horizon 5 can combine the strict mechanics of a niche genre with the wide appeal of a stupid box office success to convert those who are not impressed. All you need is Vin Diesel.

Forza Horizon 5 is launched on November 9 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. It will be available at Xbox Game Pass on the launch.
