Xcom: Chimera Squad announced, published on April 24th

The stand-alone spinoff is started exclusively for the PC.

2K and Firaxis have a new game in the announced xcom series xcom: Chimera Squad, an independent cleavage, which takes five years after the events of xcom 2: war of the chosen . After the overlords were distributed by the planet, the game takes place in City 31, which is referred to as the model of peace in a world after the invasion . An alliance between species was founded, in which people, alien and hybrid live and work. However, some are not satisfied with the Alliance, and the riots continue to increase. Here comes the title chimeric squad into the game, which is composed of veteran soldiers of various species and has the task of maintaining order in the city.

Xcom: Chimera Squad also brings some interesting changes in gameplay. Instead of designating each of their characters and units, they now control named characters with their own skills and attributes as well as species-specific forces. Permadeath is also disappeared and when a character dies, players must restart the mission. There is also a new preparation break mode before the fight, with which player can set up their troops for different tactics and battles can tackle in different ways. In the meantime, tasks, investigations and the management of a headquarters will continue to be part of the Gameplay loop.

XCOM: Chimera Squad is available on 24 April for the PC and is sold for a price of $ 20. At Steam it is available for half a price until May 1st. New trailers introducing the narrative premise of the game and some of the key changes and mechanics of the game were also published - see below.
